Anoche se celebraron los premios más prestigiosos de la industria televisiva, The Emmy Awards.
Veep- Game of Thrones- Olive Kitteridge
HBO se fue con la casa llena, ganando las tres categorías más importantes de la noche: MEJOR SERIE DRAMA con Game of Thrones, MEJOR SERIE COMEDIA con Veep y MEJOR MINI-SERIE con Olive Kitteridge. Llevándose un total de 14 estatuillas.
Dejando atrás a cadenas como Showtime, Netflix, Comedy Central y Fox.
Luego haremos un resumen de las mejores series que participaron en esta ceremonia y las que quedaron por fuera, que merecían estar.

Los Premios Emmy® 2015 a la Televisión ya anunciaron su lista de nominados, la ceremonia se llevará a cabo el 20 de Septiembre, conducida por el actor Andy Samberg.
Este año los Emmy’s a pesar de apegarse a ciertas tendencias que no tienen mucho sentido, han sido coherentes con algunas nominaciones que debían estar en la palestra, un ejemplo es Tatiana Maslany de Orphan Black, un Emmy que le deben a la actriz desde que estrenó la serie.
Game of Thrones domina esta noche, hasta compartiendo categoría con dos miembros del cast. Pueden haber premios emotivos, si le dan a Lisa Kudrow el Emmy por su incomparable actuación en The Comeback y es posible que se den situaciones para la gran foto de la noche, Matt LeBlanc y Lisa Kudrow compartiendo Emmy’s diez años después que finalizó la aclamada Friends.

MEJOR SERIE DRAMA
La más fuerte en esta categoría sin duda es GAME OF THRONES. La 5ta temporada de la serie de Weiss y Benioff ha sido la más intensa de todas. Su narrativa poco lineal y con grandes twist dramáticos, le dieron la oportunidad de resaltar hasta a los personajes secundarios que no brillaban tanto en otras temporadas. En peso le siguen DOWNTON ABBEY, HOMELAND y ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK.
MEJOR SERIE COMEDIA
VEEP es la contendiente más fuerte para el 2015. No solo por el hecho de que Julia-Louise Dreyfous se come el show, sino que el ensamble de cast es descomunal esta temporada, incluyendo la llegada de Hugh Laurie (House MD) como contraparte fuerte. En esta categoría falta una nominación también para THE COMEBACK.
MEJOR ACTOR DRAMA
Bob Odenkirk por BETTER CALL SAUL le hace competencia fuerte a Kevin Spacey por HOUSE OF CARDS. Hay que ver si los Emmy’s sorprenden o se repiten este año.
MEJOR ACTRIZ DRAMA
Esta categoría es más complicada de lo usual. La realmente merecedora del galardón es Tatiana Maslany por su primera nominación interpretando más de cuatro roles en ORPHAN BLACK. La versatilidad de Maslany es algo que se evidencia desde la primera temporada de esta serie monumental, vetada por premiaciones por no formar parte de los networks principales. Aunque también podemos mencionar la fenomenal actuación de Taraji P. Henson en EMPIRE, es lo único que vale la pena en la serie, sin dejar afuera a Claire Danes por HOMELAND y a Viola Davis por la primera temporada de HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.
MEJOR ACTOR PARA MINI SERIE O PELÍCULA DE TELEVISIÓN
Richard Jenkins y su conmovedora actuación en OLIVE KITTERIDGE debería ganar el Emmy en esta categoría.
MEJOR ACTRIZ PARA MINI SERIE O PELÍCULA DE TELEVISIÓN
Maggie Gyllenhaal por THE HONORABLE WOMAN es sin duda fuera de serie, aunque la acompaña Frances McDormand por OLIVE KITTERIDGE. Ya veremos.
MEJOR ACTOR COMEDIA
Matt LeBlanc es el genio de esta categoría por EPISODES. Aunque si los Emmy’s basan sus ganadores en trends actuales, capaz se lo den a Jeffrey Tambor por TRANSPARENT.
MEJOR ACTRIZ COMEDIA
Pienso que sin duda Lisa Kudrow debería ganar el Emmy en paralelo con su personale Valerie por THE COMEBACK. Es el performance más multifacético de esta categoría, impresionante lo que Kudrow trae a la pantalla en esta tragicomedia. Le siguen de cerca Julia Louis-Dreyfus por VEEP y Lily Tomlin por GRACE AND FRANKIE. La payasa cero graciosa de Amy Schumer no debería ni figurar al lado de estas grandes ligas.
MEJOR SERIE LIMITADA
La mejor en esta categoría es THE HONORABLE WOMAN, no solo por todo lo que transmite, sino por lo complicado que fue filmarla.
MEJOR ACTOR SECUNDARIO DRAMA
Peter Dinklage de GAME OF THRONES encabeza esta categoría, por el 1:1 más intenso que se ha escrito hasta ahora para la serie, Tyrion Lannister y Daenerys Targaryen. Le sigue Jim Carter por un performance fenomenal en DOWNTON ABBEY.
MEJOR ACTRIZ SECUNDARIA DRAMA
A quitarse el sombrero con Lena Headey por Mother Mercy en GAME OF THRONES. The Walk of Shame no tiene comparación en esta temporada de premios. A pesar que le siguen de cerca Joanne Froggatt por DOWNTON ABBEY y Uzo Aduba por ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK.
MEJOR ACTOR INVITADO DRAMA
El mejor es Alan Alda por THE BLACKLIST. A esta serie la salvan los performance de los actores de carácter, no la nueva generación.
MEJOR ACTRIZ INVITADA DRAMA
Las fuertes contendientes son la madre de Olivia Pope en SCANDAL, Khandi Alexander y Diana Rigg por GAME OF THRONES. Cicely Tyson puede colocarse cerca por HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.
MEJOR ACTOR SECUNDARIO COMEDIA
Tony Hale por VEEP es para matarse de la risa, como siempre. Merece el Emmy.
MEJOR ACTRIZ SECUNDARIA COMEDIA
Nuevamente VEEP arrasando esta temporada, el break down de nervios y crisis de Anna Chlumsky no tiene comparación. La pueden seguir Mayim Bialik que siempre destaca en THE BIG BANG THEORY y Allison Janney en MOM.
MEJOR ACTRIZ INVITADA COMEDIA
Christine Baranski siempre la parte en THE BIG BANG THEORY, otra grandes ligas que merece el Emmy. Gaby Hoffman sobra totalmente en esta categoría por GIRLS, a menos que salir en pelotas sea un mérito.
MEJOR ACTOR INVITADO PARA MINISERIE O PELÍCULA
Bill Murray aparece muy poco en OLIVE KITTERIDGE pero le vale ganar el galardón.
MEJOR ACTRIZ INVITADA PARA MINISERIE O PELÍCULA
Sin duda la doble actuación de Sarah Paulson en AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW es lo único que valió la pena esta temporada de la serie. Impresionante Paulson como siempre.
